Stanbic Bank, Rotary District 9212 invest in 700 sanitation stations across Kenya
Stanbic Bank’s flagship women’s proposition DADA has today announced a partnership with the Rotary District 9212 that will see the bank invest in 700 sanitation stations in different parts of the country. The sanitation stations worth approximately three million Kenya shillings (Ksh 3 m) were handed over to the Rotary District 9212 Emergency Response Team today at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Nairobi.
Speaking during the handover, Mr. Tom Bisonga the Head of Business Banking at Stanbic Bank Kenya said that, “We are proud of our DADA proposition and we have been making tremendous strides to contribute to the uplifting of women in our societies. As Stanbic Bank, we strive to contribute to progress in society and sustainable development. We work for something greater than the bank, we work for a greater good, delivering value, and generating a positive impact on society. Kenya is our home and we always strive to constantly play our part in driving her growth to bring forth impactful positive change. The sanitation stations will play a significant role in stopping the spread of the dangerous virus.”
The sanitation donation comes at a time when the Rotary District 9212 has stepped up its COVID-19 response across the country. Through various partners, Rotary has been able to reach more than two million Kenyans across the country. Over 3,000 vulnerable families have received food hampers. The top priority is to ensure that communities in low-income areas are not left behind.

Indeed, unprecedented times like this require such partnerships and the mobilization of resources to protect the most vulnerable in our communities while enhancing public health systems. We must ensure that we have all hands on the deck to succeed. ”

To date, Stanbic Bank Foundation together and its partner’s contribution to enhancing Kenya’s COVID-19 response has now surpassed one hundred and thirty-seven million Kenya shillings (Ksh. 137m) making it one of the boldest strategic investments in Kenya’s private sector. The interventions include a partnership with Base Titanium, Centum Investment Plc, Africapractice, and Valaar, which saw one hundred and ninety-two (192) ventilators committed to Kenya’s Ministry of Health.
Mr. Bisonga further noted how the Bank through DADA will continue to empower women, elevating her ability to create real, impactful, and positive changes in society. He emphasised on how the Bank will continue to support impacted communities and ensure the country exits this crisis more resilient. In addition to this, the bank is looking at making sustainable investments that will be beneficial to many Kenyans beyond the COVID-19 crisis to ensure the country has better healthcare in the future.
