Chinese Embassy in Kenya begins outsourcing visa application services

Kenyans visiting China will from October 15 be required to submit documents for VISAs at the 7th floor of Chancery building after the Chinese Embassy in Nairobi appointed VFS Global to provide the services.

VFS Global, which also handles South African and Schengen visa processes, today unveiled the China Visa Application Service Facility located at 7th Floor, Chancery Building, Valley Road, Milimani in Nairobi.

“The establishment of the centre will greatly improve the situation that the Kenyans applying for Chinese visas have been experiencing, such as difficulty in getting appointments or waiting in long queues. Visa applicants will also enjoy more convenient, considerate, comfortable and reliable services. So as to facilitate frequent visitors to China, the Chinese Embassy in Kenya will, on the basis of all requirements met, issue more multiple visas,” said Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in a statement, with reference to the launch of the new facility.

According to VFS Global, the new centrally-located facility will provide easy access to visitors applying for China visas in Kenya and will offer a high level of service in a comfortable and secure environment.

Services at this location commenced on 12 October 2015.

Speaking during the launch of the facility, Mr Jiten Vyas, VFS Global Chief Operating Officer in Africa said, “We are honoured to partner with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in providing services to facilitate the visa process for applicants. According to Mr. Vyas, over 15000 outbound tourists from Kenya annually visit China for business and leisure among other reasons.

VFS Global has been serving the Government of the People’s Republic of China since 2008, and currently serves the client in India and Kenya.
