UNCTAD launches Review of Maritime Transport 2015

The world’s commercial fleet grew by 3.5 per cent in 2014, the lowest annual growth rate in over a decade, UNCTAD’s Review of Maritime Transport 2015 reveals, reflecting continued sluggishness in global trade volumes.

The review covers the latest developments in international seaborne trade, shipping, the world fleet, ports, freight markets, and transport-related regulatory and legal frameworks, is now available. The review contains critical analyses and new, unique data, including long-term data series.

The Review of Maritime Transport 2015 also features a special chapter on the shipping industry in the context of the new Sustainable Development Goals and the global climate change agreement expected to be reached in Paris in December.
